"Let’s hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, because the one who made the promises is reliable. And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds. Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near."

– Hebrews 10:23-25

On their most recent album, Mumford & Sons has a song entitled, “Guiding Light.” From the first time I listened to this song I felt like it had something to say about our relationship with Christ, but in an interview with two members of the band I found an added dimension. Marcus Mumford says, “When you hit your wall, having the company next to you to help you navigate through and push on; that’s what the song is really about.”

Now when I listen to this song, I hear a conversation between members in a community of faith as well as moments of conversation with God. Oftentimes God sheds guiding light through His people. I share the lyric video of this song in the hopes that it will help you pause and reflect on the guiding light that God has placed in your past or present. Let us not give up meeting together (if only online or over the phone!) so that we may spark one another on toward love and good deeds.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." – Psalm 119:105
